Injectables
(Botox™ + Dysport™)
Beat the daily grind - literally. We use Botox™ and Dysport™ at our clinic to treat a variety of functional and aesthetic concerns, including jaw clenching and teeth grinding. Other applications include treatment of pesky frowning lines (sometimes referred to as “11’s”).
Now, let’s go back to basics. A common question that we get asked is, “What is the difference between Botox™ and Dysport™?” The answer is, there isn’t too much of one. Both are neuromodulators that are injected into the muscle to effectively block muscle contractions beneath the skin. Botox™ is frequently used to treat smaller, more localized areas, while Dysport™ is a solution for larger treatment areas.
Functional Concerns
Many patients who receive regular injectable treatments suffer from TMJ. And no - it doesn’t stand for “Totally Miserable Jaw,” but we get why you’d think that. TMJ is just a short way of saying Temporomandibular Joint, which we each have two of. Any diagnosable challenges to these joints are referred to as TMD, AKA Temporomandibular Joint Disorder. Stress can get the best of us, and constant clenching and grinding can be debilitating for many. We’re here to help fix this.
In addition to TMJ, injectables can help with:
Chronic migraines
Overactive masseter muscles
Excessive teeth grinding
Muscle spasms and tension
Aesthetic Concerns
Injectables are well-suited for patients who want to reduce visible signs of aging due to their ability to relax the facial muscles responsible for forming fine lines and wrinkles. Neuromodulators like Botox™ and Dysport™ are also known to enhance areas of the face like the jaw, lips, and cheeks (although, the opportunities are almost endless).
These services can limit the appearance of:
A gummy smile
Crow’s feet
Neck bands
A dimpled chin
Under-eye hollows
Scar treatment
To make the injectables journey as smooth as possible, we like booking in a Consult so we can get a better feel for your concerns and goals. In this sesh, we run through all of your questions so you leave the clinic informed and confident about taking that next step.
